The HP Deluxe has a maximum video resolution of 1280 x 1024 pixels. That's over four times the video resolution of a 640 x 480 pixels webcam, which is the most frequently found video resolution. The HP Deluxe has a fairly average megapixel (1.3 megapixels) compared to most of the other webcams that came out around the same time as this webcam.

There are a number of other 1.3MP webcams currently available that you might also want to consider including because of it's better review score, the HP 2100 ($49.99), the Logitech C160 ($23), or the Thrustmaster Optical Glass.

If this HP webcam megapixel is too low for you then you might want to consider the F7D7602 (2MP), or the NetCam HD ($89.97) (2MP) both from Belkin or the Sweex WC070 (2MP) which is also higher rated.
