We compared this webcam to all the other webcams with a night mode and we think the PLCM22IR, or the PLCM19 both from Pyle or the Gembird CAM0360U-1 which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

The smallest digital zoom of webcams of this age and spec is 2x, the biggest is 10x, and the average digital zoom is 4.6x. At only 3 times zoom factor, the Optical Glass has a fairly small digital zoom compared to most of the other low megapixel webcams that were launched around the same time as the Optical Glass.
Not Full HD
The Hercules Optical Glass is not full HD, although it is worth noting that most of the other webcams of a comparable age and type to the Optical Glass are also not full HD.
Across all the webcams of this type and age the minimum hard disk spaces range from 130MB to 1.6GB, and the average minimum hard disk space is 360MB. The Optical Glass has one of the bigger minimum hard disk spaces (300 megabytes) amongst low megapixel webcams of this age.

At 30 frames per second, the Optical Glass has a pretty standard maximum frame rate compared to most of the other low megapixel webcams that are a comparable age to the Optical Glass.
