6 Reasons Against

Sceptre Only Has Unexceptional TV Reviews

Whilst Sceptre is one of the middle of the road TV manufacturers according to average expert and user reviews, Sceptre has good reviews specifically for its small screen size televisions.

Does Not Have a WiFi Connection

Most TVs of a comparable age and spec to the E195BD do not have a WiFi connection. The Sceptre E195BD is no exception to this as it too does not have a WiFi connection.

We compared this TV to all the other TVs with a WiFi connection and we think the Philips 22PFL3517T/60, or the Panasonic TX-L24X6 is also worth considering.

Does Not Support Smart TV Features

Like most of the other small screen size televisions that were released more than two years ago, the Sceptre E195BD does not support smart TV features.

It is worth considering alternative TVs which also support smart TV features including the Philips 22PFL3517T/60.

For the price, you can't expect a Sony,.. but overall it's not a bad TV for the price. I'm giving it five eggs for being ... what it is - a good $100 television that does what it's supposed to do...

So far, everything is working just fine
I like the sleep-timer
I have this plugged into my laptop for watching random video stuff, and I can now watch broadcast TV, as it does have a built-in tuner - which worked fine with my (non-HD) rooftop antenna for closer s
Like TJag, already wrote, there clearly IS a visible glow around the outside perimeter
But it's nothing I can't live with
UPS was pretty rough on the factory box (crushed, punctured in several places, and REALLY dinged-up), but the TV seems to be a little survivor
There's a visible lightening around the edges of the screen, especially noticeable in darker scenes
The remote is a little difficult to get used to

I can now watch videos more than 10 inches away from my face, which lessens eye strain. I would say this is not really good enough to use as a monitor (720p doesn't do it for me for web-text) but... Read more…
