Data projectors built by Vivitek generally have good ratings. 100% of those that bought a Vivitek projector would recommend the product that they bought to other buyers.

Multimedia

Has a Built-In Speaker(s)

The Vivitek D556 has a built-in speaker(s). Most of the other 15000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been on the market for more than two years also have a built-in speaker(s).

We compared all the other projectors with a built-in speaker(s) to this data projector and we think the Infocus IN116A ($398.99) which has better reviews is also worth considering.

Average Projector Brightness

With a projector brightness of 3,000 ANSI lumens, the Vivitek D556 has a fairly typical projector brightness compared to most of the other 15000:1 contrast ratio projectors that were released around the same time as this data projector.

It may also be worth considering one of the alternative 3,000 ANSI lumens brightness multimedia projectors currently available including because of it's better review score, the Viewsonic PJD7820HD ($854.99), or the Infocus IN114A.

If this Vivitek data projector projector brightness is too dim for you then you might want to look at the Vivitek DX881ST (3,300 ANSI lumens), or the Epson EB Z9870U (8,700 ANSI lumens).
