The PT-VW340 has a built-in speaker(s). Most of the other projectors that were released more than two years ago also have a built-in speaker(s).

It may also be worth also looking at one of the other projectors with a built-in speaker(s) currently available including the Epson EB-425W which has better reviews.

Alternative data projectors which also have a built-in speaker(s) that you might want to consider include the Hitachi CP-X5022 ($1,218.73), or the Optoma EX685.

The Panasonic PT-VW340 has one of the brighter projector brightnesses (3,700 ANSI lumens) amongst multimedia projectors of this age. The dimmest projector brightness of data projectors of this age and type is 100 ANSI lumens, the brightest is 7,000 ANSI lumens, and the average projector brightness is 3,400 ANSI lumens.

If you want a brighter projector brightness then you might want to look at the Epson EB-1930 ($999) (4,200 ANSI lumens) which also has a higher rating.

At 35 decibels, the PT-VW340 has a pretty standard noise level compared to most of the other 3000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been available for a similar time to this projector.

We compared all the other 35dB noise level data projectors to this projector and we think the Epson EB-425W which has better reviews is also worth considering.

If you would consider a projector with a louder noise level then you might want to look at the Optoma EX685 (30dB), or the Hitachi CP-WX4022 ($1,219.16) (35dB).
