Good Size

Two Optoma W401 reviewers who purchased the Optoma W401 reckoned that it was a good weight. Pcmag.com gave it a score of 4 stars and said on expert review site PC Mag three years ago “The Optoma W401$922.00 at Amazon shares many of the same features, including a light weight and a bright image”. Itreviews.com said on expert website IT Reviews.com in the same month “The Optoma W401 shares many of the same features, including a light weight and a bright image” in their review of this projector.

Fairly Bright Projector Brightness

At 4,500 ANSI lumens, the Optoma W401 has a quite bright projector brightness compared to most of the other 15000:1 contrast ratio data projectors that have been available for more than two years. Projectors that have been on the market for a similar time to the W401 have projector brightnesss of between 700 ANSI lumens and 11,000 ANSI lumens.

We compared this multimedia projector to all the other 4,500 ANSI lumens brightness projectors and we think because of it's better review score, the Optoma X501 is also worth considering.

If this Optoma projector projector brightness is not bright enough for you then you might also want to look at the EB-Z9870U (7,500 ANSI lumens), the Pro Z9800WNL (8,300 ANSI lumens), or the EB-Z9875U (8,700 ANSI lumens) all from Epson which is also higher rated.

Does Not Support Wi-Fi

Most 15000:1 contrast ratio data projectors that have been on the market for around the same time as the W401 do not support wi-Fi. The Optoma W401 is no exception to this as it too does not support wi-Fi.

There are a number of other multimedia projectors which also support wi-Fi which you might want to look at including the EB Z9870U, or the EB-Z11000 both from Epson or the Optoma EX400 which also has a higher rating.
