We checked 1,734 expert and user reviews for Optoma multimedia projectors and found that on average Optoma has good reviews. We also found that Optoma has good reviews specifically within its 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors range.
Supports Full HD
The Optoma EH416 supports full HD, unlike most of the other 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been around for a similar time to the EH416 which do not support full HD.
There are a number of alternative projectors which support full HD currently available which you might also want to consider including cheaper data projectors such as the Z650[pl_3287896_price], or the P5627[pl_3723891_price] both from Acer or the Benq MU706[plb_3903939_price].
The Optoma EH416 supports 3D. Most of the other 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that were released around the same time as the EH416 also support 3D.
We compared all the other data projectors which support 3D to this data projector and we think the Benq MU706[plb_3903939_price], the Acer Z650[plb_3287896_price], and the Optoma W416[plb_3758764_price] which is cheaper is also worth considering.

We compared this multimedia projector to all the other multimedia projectors with a built-in speaker(s) and we think the Benq MU706[plb_3903939_price], and the Acer Z650[plb_3287896_price] which is cheaper is also worth considering.
There are a number of alternative data projectors which also have a built-in speaker(s) that you might also want to consider including the Casio XJ-F10X[plb_3277658_price].
1080p (1920x1080) Projector Native Resolution
The highest resolution of the Optoma EH416 is 1080p (1920x1080). That's over two times the resolution of a WXGA (1280x800) projector, which is the most common resolution. Across all 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been on the market for a similar time to the EH416 the worst resolution is SVGA (800x600) and the best is WUXGA (1920x1200).
Quite Bright Projector Brightness
At 4,200 ANSI lumens, the Optoma EH416 has a fairly bright projector brightness compared to most of the other new 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors. The dimmest projector brightness of projectors that are a comparable age to the EH416 is 300 ANSI lumens and the brightest is 5,400 ANSI lumens.
If this data projector projector brightness is too dim for you then you might want to look at the Optoma W416[plb_3758764_price] (4,500 ANSI lumens and cheaper).
