The Optoma DS311 supports 3D. Most of the other projectors of this type and age also support 3D.

It may also be worth also looking at one of the alternative data projectors which support 3D currently available including the Benq MS619 which has better reviews.

4 Reasons Against

Does Not Support Full HD

Most similar spec multimedia projectors that were released more than two years ago do not support full HD. The Optoma DS311 is no exception to this as it too does not support full HD.

We compared this multimedia projector to all the other projectors with a full HD and we think the MS504 ($308.99), or the MX505 both from Benq or the Optoma DH1011 ($806.62) which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

Does Not Support Wi-Fi

The Optoma DS311 does not support wi-Fi, although it is worth keeping in mind that most of the other multimedia projectors that came out around the same time as the DS311 also do not support wi-Fi.

Chart Edit

Only SVGA (800x600) Projector Native Resolution

The Optoma DS311 has a maximum resolution of SVGA (800x600). That's 39% less resolution than the most common projector native resolution of XGA (1024x768).

A SVGA (800x600) projector native resolution is actually the worst resolution amongst all data projectors of a comparable spec and age to the DS311.

Amongst similar types of multimedia projector the best resolution is WXGA (1280x800).

Released Over Two Years Ago

This projector was released over two years ago.

Average Projector Brightness

The Optoma DS311 has a relatively typical projector brightness (2,800 ANSI lumens) compared to most of the other projectors of a similar age and spec to the DS311.

We compared all the other 2,800 ANSI lumens brightness multimedia projectors to this projector and we think because of it's better review score, the Optoma DS330 is also worth considering.

Multimedia projectors with a brighter projector brightness that might also be worth considering include the X123 (3,000 ANSI lumens), or the X133 (3,100 ANSI lumens) both from Acer.
