At only 2,700 ANSI lumens, the Epson PowerLite 97H has a fairly dim projector brightness compared to most of the other 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been available for around the same time as this data projector. The dimmest projector brightness of comparable spec projectors that were released more than two years ago is 300 ANSI lumens, the brightest is 20,000 ANSI lumens, and the average projector brightness is 3,400 ANSI lumens.

We compared all the other 2,700 ANSI lumens brightness multimedia projectors to this multimedia projector and we think the 240 ($718.58), and the X1140 both from Acer or the Epson PowerLite S27 ($374.47) which has better reviews is also worth considering.

Data projectors with a brighter projector brightness that might also be worth looking at include the PT-LB300 (3,100 ANSI lumens), or the PT-RZ370 ($3,399) (3,500 ANSI lumens) both from Panasonic or the Acer H6517ST (3,000 ANSI lumens) which also has a higher rating.
