4 Reasons For

Easy to Use

Two Acer X112 owners considered that it was easy to use. Malcolm a wrote in his Acer X112 review on Amazon two years ago “Controls easy to use - which is good because” and rated the product 4 stars.

Acceptable Noise Level

One customer who purchased this projector reckoned that it was quiet. Malcolm a wrote “Very bright image and quiet to use (much better than Epson EBSO2” and rated the product 4 stars.

Acer Has Good Reviews for Its Data Projectors

Acer 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors have good ratings on average and across all projectors Acer is one of the superior brands.

Quite Long Service Life of Lamp

Similar spec projectors that have been around for more than two years have service life of lamps of between 2,000h and 20,000h, and the average service life of lamp is 4,600h. With a service life of lamp of 5,000 hours, the Acer X112 has one of the longer service life of lamps amongst 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors of this age.

7 Reasons Against

Poor Support

One customer who bought it considered that it did not have good technical guidance. Two years ago Malcolm a mentioned on Amazon “The CD which contained installation guide was warped and unreadable” in his review.

Does Not Have a Built-In Speaker(s)

Most of the other data projectors of this type and age have a built-in speaker(s), however the Acer X112 does not have a built-in speaker(s).

There are a number of alternative multimedia projectors which also have a built-in speaker(s) that you might want to look at including the Benq MX522[plb_2029720_price], or the Optoma DS330[plb_1878570_price] which also has a higher rating.

Does Not Support 3D

The Acer X112 does not support 3D, unlike most of the other multimedia projectors that were released around the same time as the X112 which support 3D.

We compared all the other projectors which also support 3D to this data projector and we think the Optoma DX346[plb_2212801_price], or the Benq MS619[plb_2024148_price] is also worth considering.

Does Not Support Full HD

The Acer X112 does not support full HD. Most of the other 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that came out more than two years ago also do not support full HD.

It is worth considering alternative data projectors which also support full HD including the MS504[pl_2024728_price], or the MX505[pl_2024730_price] both from Benq or the Optoma DH1011[plb_1726991_price] which also has a higher rating.

Does Not Support Wi-Fi

The Acer X112 does not support wi-Fi, although it is worth noting that most of the other projectors that have been available for a similar time to the X112 also do not support wi-Fi.

Chart Edit

Only SVGA (800x600) Projector Native Resolution

The highest resolution of the Acer X112 is SVGA (800x600). That's 39% less resolution than the most common projector native resolution of XGA (1024x768).

A SVGA (800x600) projector native resolution is in fact the worst resolution amongst all comparable spec data projectors that are a similar age to the X112.

A WXGA (1280x800) projector native resolution is the best resolution amongst comparable types of projector.

Quite Dim Projector Brightness

Across all the 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that were released more than two years ago the projector brightnesss range from 800 ANSI lumens to 4,200 ANSI lumens. The Acer X112 has a fairly dim projector brightness (only 2,700 ANSI lumens) compared to most of the other projectors of a similar age and spec to the X112.

We compared all the other 2,700 ANSI lumens brightness projectors to this projector and we think because of it's better review score, the Benq MX503[plb_1418386_price] is also worth considering.

If you want a data projector with a brighter projector brightness then you might want to look at the Benq MX518[plb_1521707_price] (2,800 ANSI lumens).
