6 Reasons For

Just Released Six Months Ago

This multimedia projector is one of the latest multimedia projectors to be released. This means it is likely to use better technology than some of the older multimedia projectors.

Good Brand

We checked the user and expert reviews of hundreds of multimedia projectors to determine an average rating for each projector manufacturer. On average Acer projectors have good reviews from owners and experts.

Supports 3D

The Acer A1500 supports 3D, as do most of the other multimedia projectors that came out in the last 12 months.

We think you might also be interested in some of the alternative projectors which support 3D currently available including a cheaper projector such as the Acer H6517ABD or you might consider a better rated projector such as the Optoma EH341 ($499.95).

We compared all the other projectors which also support 3D to this projector and we think the Acer P1525 is also worth considering.

Has a Built-In Speaker(s)

The Acer A1500 has a built-in speaker(s). Most of the other 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that were launched around the same time as the A1500 also have a built-in speaker(s).

We think you might also be interested in some of the alternative multimedia projectors with a built-in speaker(s) currently available including a cheaper projector such as the Acer H6517ABD or you might consider a higher rated projector such as the Optoma EH341 ($499.95).

Alternative projectors which also have a built-in speaker(s) that you might also want to look at include the Acer P1525.

1080p (1920x1080) Projector Native Resolution

The Acer A1500 has a maximum resolution of 1080p (1920x1080). That's over two times the resolution of the most frequently found projector native resolution of WXGA (1280x800). Across all 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that were launched in the last year the resolution ranges from SVGA (800x600) (worst) to WUXGA (1920x1200) (best).

Chart Edit

Quite High Vertical Synchronization (max)

With a vertical synchronization (max) of 120 kilohertz, the Acer A1500 has one of the higher vertical synchronization (max)s amongst multimedia projectors of this age. 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been available for a similar time to the A1500 have vertical synchronization (max)s of between 0.1kHz and 120kHz.

3 Reasons Against

Does Not Support Full HD

Most multimedia projectors that were released in the last 12 months do not support full HD. The Acer A1500 is no exception to this as it too does not support full HD.

Alternative projectors which also support full HD that you might also want to consider include the Acer H6517ABD or the Optoma EH341 ($499.95).

Quite Dim Projector Brightness

At only 3,000 ANSI lumens, the Acer A1500 has a quite dim projector brightness compared to most of the other 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that were released around the same time as the A1500. The average projector brightness of 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been available for around the same time as the A1500 is 3,400 ANSI lumens, and the projector brightnesss range from 300 ANSI lumens to 5,400 ANSI lumens.

Data projectors with a brighter projector brightness that might also be worth considering include the Acer H6502BD ($609.99) (3,200 ANSI lumens) which also has a higher rating.

Average Noise Level

At 31 decibels, the Acer A1500 has a fairly standard noise level compared to most of the other 20000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that came out in the last 12 months.

We compared all the other 31dB noise level projectors to this multimedia projector and we think cheaper data projectors such as the H6517ABD, and the A1300W both from Acer is also worth considering.

Projectors with a louder noise level that might also be worth looking at include the Acer P1623 (31dB).
