Poor Expert Reviews

Based on two expert reviews from sites including Techradar and pcforalla.idg.se this medium monitor has an average expert rating of 60%. It seems that experts really don't rate this flatpanel monitor very highly.

Released Over Four Years Ago

This medium monitor has been on the market for over four years.

Does Not Have a Built-In Speaker

The LE2201w does not have a built-in speaker, although it is worth noting that most of the other similar spec PC displays that were launched around the same time as the LE2201w also do not have a built-in speaker.

It is worth considering alternative PC screens which also have a built-in speaker including the AOC e2260Swhu, the Samsung 320MXN-3, or the Neovo HX-24 which is also higher rated.

HP Has Good LCD Screen Reviews

HP is one of the superior LCD screen manufacturers according to average reviews from experts and owners, and HP also has good ratings for its medium monitors.

LCD Display Type

The LE2201w has a better display type than most PC displays of this age and spec. This PC display has an LCD display type, whereas most PC monitors that came out around the same time as it have an LED display type.

We compared all the other LCD screens that have an LCD Display to this flatpanel monitor and we think because of it's better review score, the Samsung 320MXN-3, the AVUE AVK10S22W ($179), and the Wortmann AG Terra 2445W is also worth considering.

If the display type of this PC screen is not good enough for you then you might also want to consider the e2250Swdnk (LED), the U2868 ($370.49) (LED), or the I2276 (LED) all from AOC which also has a higher rating.

Not 3D Compatible

The LE2201w is not 3D compatible, although it is worth noting that most of the other PC screens that came out around the same time as the LE2201w are also not 3D compatible.

If you would prefer a PC monitor that is 3D compatible then you might want to look at the D2769VH, or the d2757Ph both from AOC or the NEC MultiSync P241 which is also higher rated.

Does Not Have a Built-In Camera

Like most of the other flatpanel monitors of this spec and age, the HP LE2201w does not have a built-in camera.

We think you might also be interested in other flatpanel monitors which also have a built-in camera including the 27" Thunderbolt Display, or the 27" Cinema Display both from Apple or the HP EliteDisplay E221 which also has a higher rating.
