Amazon has confirmed that the next Amazon Prime Day will take place sometime this month. While there is no specific date at the moment, the word comes down from Brian Olsavsky - Amazon’s CFO - during their most recent earnings report. Historically Amazon have run their Prime Day sales in July, but it may be moving in order to avoid clashing with the Tokyo Olympics that will (possibly) be taking place in July and August this year.
Some may find this date for Prime Day 2021 comforting, since the 2020 Prime Day was heavily delayed because of the Covid-19 crisis and the resulting effects on global manufacturing and shipping. This move back to the summer slot marks a return to relative normality, although for many people life is still far from normal. Whatever the situation, it’s clear that Amazon is keen to keep the momentum that has seen them rack up record sales figures.
What is Prime Day?
Prime Day is Amazon’s yearly sale open solely to members of their ‘Amazon Prime’ program. It was originally started in 2015 as a limited 1-day sale to honour the site’s 20th Anniversary. This proved so popular that it was brought back the following year… and over the last 5 years it has grown into a full weekend of sales across the whole world!
Prime Day discounts encompass almost every category of products on Amazon. Understandably, the deepest cuts are reserved for Amazon’s own products, such as the Kindle, but there will be hefty discounts on a massive range of products, including TVs, Headphones, Soundbars, Smartphones & more!
Here are a handful of products that we expect will see discounts on Prime Day 2021:

Kagoo Top Tips for Prime Day
To make sure you nab the best deals going, we’ve got a couple of tips from the pros here at Kagoo!
Be prepared with alternatives for popular products, since it’s possible that stock of popular products will run out very quickly.
Move fast! It’s good to properly consider a deal, but don’t tarry too long - otherwise you may find you’ve lost the chance.
Consider other sites - a lot of other merchants (such as Currys, or AO) have tended to run deals the same weekend as Prime Day, in order to try and profit from the momentum of Amazon’s sale. They will have similar deals, so if you can’t find something in Amazon’s sale, try a selection of other shops.
If you have an Echo or compatible device, you can ask “Alexa, what are my Prime Day deals?” for a run-down of current offers and discounts.
Check Kagoo’s Deals Page for the latest and best deals, both in the run up to Prime Day, and during the event itself.
