It’s May 4th, so it’s Star Wars Day once again! As is tradition, let’s take another look at more of the weird and wonderful Star Wars themed gadgets, appliances and general household oddities you can buy to show off your love for Baby Yoda and his grumpy dad!
Let’s start off with a brand new release - Anker have released a special version of their ‘Capsule II’ projector that looks like everybody’s favourite astromech droid! While it has a very nifty design, it’s a bit of a pity that they didn’t go all in, and make the coke can-style body look a bit more like R2-D2. Some little legs on the bottom and a rounded top would look adorable!
Unsurprisingly, there’s been a boom in products featuring ‘The Child’ (AKA Baby Yoda) after the success of The Mandalorian. This is an especially odd example - clearly everyone needs a bright green toaster that burns Baby Yoda’s face onto your breakfast! All part of a balanced diet.
Keeping with breakfast - if you like your coffee on the dark side, then this kettle shaped like Darth Vader’s helmet will be right up your alley! It comes complete with 1.7L capacity and a lightsaber-shaped handle - no reports on whether it lets you force choke people.
Instant Pots are fantastic - an all-in-one kitchen appliance that allows you to cook everything from pulled pork to rice. You can even make wine in it! However as versatile as it is, do you know what’s missing? A Chewbacca design all over it! These special edition Star Wars Instant Pots are hard to come by, but they are 100% worth the effort - the designs look spectacular! I wonder what slow-roast Ewok tastes like...
It's a well-known fact that you can't have enough lightsabers in your kitchen - so why not add two many with this matched pair of electric salt and pepper grinders? Modelled off Vader & Anakin's lightsabers, these stainless steel mills will help bring balance to your breakfast!
The first of two lamps - this mixes 2 classic designs, as the classy sophistication of an anglepoise lamp meets the timeless grey Millennium Falcon! Everybody needs a spaceship blasting off on their desk.
Maybe you want a darker style: this tall vertical table lamp is modelled off the legendary Darksaber, most recently seen in The Mandalorian. It may look a bit like a sharpened lava lamp, but this 2 feet tall decoration will definitely become a centrepiece!
Le Creuset are usually known for their high quality stone and cast iron bakeware, but who says you can’t have a bit of fun? They have modified one of their cast iron roasting tins to depict everyone’s favourite smuggler getting flash-frozen in carbonite - just the thing to make your roasted veggies taste extra-good!
Sadly this isn’t actually an official R2-D2 mixer- instead it’s a collection of decals you can add to your Kitchenaid if you feel like your baking needs a bit of extra Space Excitement! Maybe one day we’ll get proper Star Wars stand mixers, but until that point this is a good solution.
Let’s finish off with quite possibly the most ridiculous product I’ve seen in a very long time. This is a Darth Vader beer stein, and it… defies description. The TIE-fighter on the top! The airbrushed-on-a-van picture of Vader! The sheer size of it! This is top tier Star Wars tat - it would take a lot to beat this.
