The D7000 is a joy to use, and takes breathtaking photos and videos, but minor niggles keep it from an award...

GREAT CAMERA AT A GREAT PRICE!

EVERYTHING
Great sensor size. The 16.2MP sensor by Nikon equates to being just a shade under the 18MP Canon sensor in terms of resolution because Nikon's sensors are a tad bit bigger. This results in what I perc
Fast burst rate. The Expeed 2 processor does a great job of quickly writing images. It shoots at 6fps in Ch mode (continuous high). It will take 18 jpegs and 10 raw before buffering
Awesome AF system with 39 point and 9 Crosstype. The AF system is very versatile and accurate. It's focus to shoot time if very fast
Easy use button layout
Not a full magnesium alloy body. Only the back half if magnesium alloy, so the area surrounding the lens latch is not as solid. It is still a very solid build for this level of camera
Has a good in hand feel but not great. This is not a major issue, but something to think about. The Canon 7d feels much nicer while handling it
Using selection pad to move AF points while looking through viewfinder is a bit annoying. When you are looking through the viewfinder your cheek partially covers the selection pad that you use to chan
