We compared this webcam to all the other USB powered webcams and we think the Logitech C110 which has better reviews; or the HP AU165AA which is cheaper are also worth considering.

Webcams which are USB powered that might also be worth looking at include the Mediatech MT4030K.

We think you might also be interested in some of the alternative webcams with a built-in microphone currently available including cheaper webcams such as the Genius FaceCam 1000X ($39.99).

It is worth considering other webcams which also have a built-in microphone including the Mediatech MT4030K, or the V7 CS1330.

Across all the similar spec webcams that have been available for more than two years the maximum frame rates range from 8fps to 60fps. When compared to other low megapixel count webcams that have been on the market for around the same time as the LifeCam VX-800 that we have checked, the maximum frame rate of the Microsoft LifeCam VX-800 of only 15 frames per second is one of the lowest.

If you would prefer a webcam with a higher maximum frame rate then you might want to consider the HP AU165AA (30fps) which is also cheaper.
