USB Powered

The HP AU165AA is USB powered. Most of the other low megapixel count webcams that have been available for around the same time as the AU165AA are not USB powered.

There are a number of alternative USB powered webcams currently available which you might want to look at including because of it's better review score, the Logitech C110.

If you would prefer a webcam that is USB powered then you might also want to consider the Microsoft LifeCam VX-800, or the Mediatech MT4030K.
