3 Reasons For

Very Big Operating Radius

Across all the vacuums that came out more than a year ago the operating radii range from 0.21m to 18m. When compared to other similar spec vacuums that are a comparable age to the DC66 that we have assessed the operating radius of, the Dyson DC66's operating radius of 17.2 meters is one of the biggest.

Good Brand

Vacuums built by Dyson have good reviews on average. We also checked the reviews for all vacuum cleaners (not just vacuums) and found that Dyson also has good reviews across its entire range.

Quite Long Cord Length

When compared to other vacuum cleaners of this type and age that we have assessed the cord length of, the Dyson DC66's cord length of 11.6 meters is one of the longest. Vacuums that were released around the same time as the DC66 have cord lengths of between 4.5m and 11,000m, and the average cord length is 330m.

3 Reasons Against

Does Not Have a Brush Tool

Most vacuums of a comparable age and spec to the DC66 do not have a brush tool. The Dyson DC66 is no exception to this as it too does not have a brush tool.

We compared this vacuum to all the other vacuum cleaners with a brush tool and we think the VAX Multivax 3in1 6131T; or the Imetec 8138 are also worth considering.

The lightest vacuum cleaner that was launched around the same time as the DC66 is 4.7g heavy and the heaviest is 9.4kg. The Dyson DC66 is fairly heavy (7.9 kilograms) compared to most of the other vacuum cleaners that have been around for a similar time to the DC66.

Vacuums with a heavier weight that might also be worth considering include the Severin Lithium Sweeper (1.5kg and cheaper).

Not Cordless

The Dyson DC66 is not cordless, although keep in mind that most of the other vacuums that came out around the same time as the DC66 are also not cordless.

If you want a vacuum that is cordless then you might also want to look at the Imetec 8138, or the Severin Lithium Sweeper which is also cheaper.
