Excellent Brand

On average Viewsonic 15000:1 contrast ratio projectors have excellent reviews compared to other manufacturers as do all projectors built by Viewsonic.

Good Connectivity

Several Viewsonic PJD8633 owners who reviewed the Viewsonic PJD8633 considered that it was good in terms of connectivity. Expert review site Pcmag.com said “It also has a good set of connectivity choices, including LAN, USB display” in their review of this projector and rated it 80 out of 100. Pc Mag said two years ago “Good range of connectivity choices” and scored it 4 stars.

Supports Full HD Projection

The Viewsonic PJD8633 supports Full HD projection, which is unusual. Most of the other projectors of this age and type do not support Full HD projection.

Has a Built-In Speaker

Like most of the other projectors of a comparable type and age to the PJD8633, the Viewsonic PJD8633 has a built-in speaker.

There are a number of alternative projectors with a built-in speaker currently available that you might want to consider including the X307[pl_1727619_price], or the W307[pl_1727438_price] both from Optoma which is cheaper.

We compared all the other data projectors which also have a built-in speaker to this multimedia projector and we think the Optoma EH415[plb_2227615_price] is also worth considering.

WXGA (1280x800) Native Projector Resolution

The PJD8633 has a maximum resolution of WXGA (1280x800). That's 30% more resolution than a XGA (1024x768) data projector, which is the most common resolution. Across all projectors of a similar age and type to the PJD8633 the worst resolution is SVGA (800x600) and the best is WUXGA (1920x1200).
