The Sony VPL-DW120 has a maximum resolution of WXGA (1280x800). That's 30% more resolution than a XGA (1024x768) projector, which is the most frequently found resolution. The best resolution of all data projectors of a comparable type and age to the VPL-DW120 is WUXGA (1920x1200) and the worst is XGA (1024x768).
We compared all the other projectors that have a resolution of WXGA (1280x800) to this multimedia projector and we think because of it's better review score, the Ricoh PJ WX4130 ($1,913.80), and the Sony VPL-DW125 is also worth considering.
Data projectors with a higher resolution that might be worth looking at include the VPL-CH355 ($1,839.95) (WUXGA (1920x1200)), or the VPL-CH375 ($2,279.95) (WUXGA (1920x1200)) both from Sony or the Hitachi CP-WU9410 ($12,528.77) (WUXGA (1920x1200)).
