Has a Built-In Speaker

The Pico Genie M100 has a built-in speaker. Most of the other battery powered projectors that were launched in the last 12 months also have a built-in speaker.

Supports Six Video Formats

The Pico Genie M100 has a greater number of supported video formats than most recently released comparable spec projectors. The most commonly supported video format is AVI, but this video format is not supported by this multimedia projector. The video formats H.264, MKV, MOV, MP4, RM and RMVB are also supported by this projector.

Supports Three Image Formats

The Pico Genie M100 has a greater number of supported image formats than most projectors that have been available for around the same time as it. The most frequently supported image format is JPG, but this image format is not supported by this projector. The image formats BMP, JPEG XR and PNG are also supported by this data projector.

Whilst Pico Genie is one of the unexceptional projector manufacturers according to average expert and user reviews, Pico Genie has ok reviews specifically for its battery powered projectors.

Poor Support

One customer who reviewed this projector considered that it did not have good technical guidance. Corsur said on Amazon “The manual is not great on this projector it mainly shows you how to connect to a phone” but in spite of that they scored the product 80 out of 100.

Does Not Support 3D Image Projection

The Pico Genie M100 does not support 3D image projection. Most of the other battery powered projectors that came out around the same time as the M100 also do not support 3D image projection.

Other data projectors which also support 3D image projection that you might want to look at include the Optoma W330 which is also higher rated.

Very Dim Projector Brightness

At only 65 ANSI lumens, the Pico Genie M100 has a fairly dim projector brightness compared to most of the other projectors that came out around the same time as the M100. The dimmest projector brightness of battery powered projectors that were released around the same time as the M100 is 65 ANSI lumens and the brightest is 3,500 ANSI lumens.

If you want a brighter projector brightness then you might also want to consider the Pico Genie P100 (85 ANSI lumens and higher rated), or the Optoma W330 (3,000 ANSI lumens and higher rated) or the Aiptek MobileCinema i70 (70 ANSI lumens and cheaper).

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

Most recently released battery powered projectors do not support Full HD projection. The Pico Genie M100 is no exception to this as it too does not support Full HD projection.

Does Not Support WiFi Connectivity

The Pico Genie M100 does not support WiFi connectivity. Most of the other comparable spec multimedia projectors that are a similar age to the M100 also do not support WiFi connectivity.

We compared this data projector to all the other data projectors with a WiFi connectivity and we think the Aiptek MobileCinema i70 which is also cheaper is also worth considering.
