Projectors manufactured by Optoma have good reviews on average compared to other manufacturers. We also checked the reviews for all projectors (not just projectors) and found that Optoma also has good reviews across its entire range.

Easy to Use

One Optoma W310 owner mentioned in their reviews that this projector was easy to setup. Mr. Malcolm Lucas wrote in his Optoma W310 review in October last year “Good bright picture and easy to set up”.

Good 3D Picture Quality

One Optoma W310 owner who bought the product considered that it had a good 3D picture quality. M J Hillerby rated it 5 stars and mentioned “I use it on HDMI and the 3D is great” in their review of this projector.

Acceptable Noise Level

Other projectors with a built-in speaker currently available which you might want to consider include the PJD5555 ($342.99), or the PJD5255 ($294.99) both from Viewsonic which has better reviews.

1600 X 1200 (UXGA) Graphics Resolution

The Optoma W310 supports a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 (UXGA). That's over six times the resolution of the most common graphics resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA) (which is also supported by this multimedia projector). This Optoma data projector also support graphics resolutions of 1024 x 768 (XGA) and 1280 x 1024 (SXGA) and 800 x 600 (SVGA). The resolution of all projectors that have been around for more than a year ranges from 640 x 480 (VGA) (worst) to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) (best).

Across all the similar spec data projectors that have been on the market for a comparable time to the W310 the matrix sizes range from 0.45" to 0.74". At 0.65 inches, the Optoma W310 has a quite big matrix size compared to most of the other multimedia projectors that have been on the market for a comparable time to the W310.

Not Good in Terms of Size

One Optoma W310 owner who reviewed it considered that it was not heavy and bulky. M J Hillerby mentioned in their Optoma W310 review on Amazon last year “There were white dots everywhere, as the unit had not let me down in heavy use for 6 years I could not complain”.

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

The Optoma W310 does not support Full HD projection. Most of the other projectors of a similar age and spec to the W310 also do not support Full HD projection.

We compared this projector to all the other projectors with a Full HD projection and we think the Infocus IN119HD ($444.99) which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

Does Not Support WiFi Connectivity

The Optoma W310 does not support WiFi connectivity, although it is worth keeping in mind that most of the other projectors that have been available for more than a year also do not support WiFi connectivity.

Quite Small Lamp Power

The lamp power of multimedia projectors of a similar spec and age to the W310 range from 50W to 380W, and the average lamp power is 240W. At only 195 Watts, the Optoma W310 has a fairly small lamp power compared to most of the other comparable spec multimedia projectors that were launched around the same time as the W310.
