Projectors built by Optoma have good ratings on average compared to other manufacturers. We also checked the reviews for all multimedia projectors (not just projectors) and found that Optoma also has good ratings across its entire range.

Has a Built-In Speaker

Unlike most of the other projectors that have been on the market for more than two years which do not have a built-in speaker, the Optoma W304M has a built-in speaker.

We compared all the other projectors with a built-in speaker to this data projector and we think a cheaper projector such as the Acer H7532 or you might consider a higher rated projector such as the Viewsonic PJD6544W ($919.00), and the Optoma GT1080 ($669.49) are also worth considering.

Supports 3D Image Projection

The Optoma W304M supports 3D image projection, as do most of the other projectors that were released around the same time as the W304M.

It may also be worth considering one of the alternative data projectors which support 3D image projection currently available including the Optoma GT1080 ($669.49), or the LG PA1000 which has better reviews; or the Acer H7532 which is cheaper.

Not Good in Terms of Size

Some customers wrote in their reviews that this projector was not heavy and bulky. Pcmag.com wrote on expert website PC Mag three years ago “Less than a pound heavier th”.

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

The Optoma W304M does not support Full HD projection, although it is worth keeping in mind that most of the other comparable spec projectors that have been around for around the same time as the W304M also do not support Full HD projection.

Other multimedia projectors which also support Full HD projection that you might also want to consider include the Acer H7532 or the Optoma GT1080 ($669.49), or the LG PA1000.

Does Not Support WiFi Connectivity

Like most of the other multimedia projectors that came out around the same time as the W304M, the Optoma W304M does not support WiFi connectivity.

Other projectors which also support WiFi connectivity that you might want to consider include the Benq GP30, or the Optoma W305ST which also has a higher rating.

At 3,100 ANSI lumens, the Optoma W304M has a pretty average projector brightness compared to most of the other projectors that have been on the market for around the same time as the W304M.

If you would prefer a projector with a brighter projector brightness then you might want to look at the W305ST (3,200 ANSI lumens and higher rated), or the HD25 (3,200 ANSI lumens and higher rated) both from Optoma.
