1280 X 1024 (SXGA) Graphics Resolution
The highest resolution supported by the Optoma S311 is 1280 x 1024 (SXGA). That's over four times the resolution of the most frequently found graphics resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA). Across all projectors that came out around the same time as the S311 the resolution ranges from 640 x 480 (VGA) to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA).
There are a number of alternative projectors that support a resolution of 1024 x 768 (XGA)|1280 x 1024 (SXGA)|1600 x 1200 (UXGA)|640 x 480 (VGA)|800 x 600 (SVGA) currently available which you might also want to consider including the S313, or the S313 both from Optoma which is cheaper.
If the resolution of this data projector is not high enough for you then you might want to consider the S310 (1600 x 1200 (UXGA)|800 x 600 (SVGA)), or the W310 (1024 x 768 (XGA)|1280 x 1024 (SXGA)|1600 x 1200 (UXGA)|640 x 480 (VGA)|800 x 600 (SVGA)) both from Optoma.
Very High Number of Colours
When compared to other projectors that were released more than a year ago that we have assessed the number of colours of, the Optoma S311's number of colours of 1,073.4 million is one of the highest. Projectors of this age and type have numbers of colours of between 1M and 1,100M, and the average number of colours is 960M.
Two HDMI Ports
The Optoma S311 has more HDMI ports than most of the projectors of a similar age and type to the S311. Most of the similar spec data projectors that were launched around the same time as the S311 only have one HDMI port, however this projector has two HDMI ports.
Two USB 2.0 Ports
