Fairly Bright Projector Brightness

At 8,000 ANSI lumens, the NEC NP-PX800 has a quite bright projector brightness compared to most of the other 2100:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been available for more than two years. Projectors of a similar type and age to the NP-PX800 have projector brightness of between 2,000 ANSI lumens and 8,000 ANSI lumens, and the average projector brightness is 5,500 ANSI lumens.

Chart Edit

1920 X 1200 (WUXGA) Graphics Resolution

The NP-PX800 supports a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA). That's over seven times the resolution of a 640 x 480 (VGA) projector, which is the most frequently found resolution supported by 2100:1 contrast ratio projectors that were launched around the same time as the NP-PX800. 640 x 480 (VGA) is also supported by this projector. In addition, this data projector support graphics resolutions of 1024 x 768 (XGA), 1280 x 1024 (SXGA), 1400 x 1050 (SXGA+) and 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) and 800 x 600 (SVGA).

A 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) graphics resolution is actually the best supported resolution amongst all projectors of a comparable type and age to the NP-PX800.

The worst supported resolution amongst comparable types of data projector is 640 x 480 (VGA).

6 Reasons Against

Does Not Support 3D Image Projection

The NP-PX800 does not support 3D image projection. Most of the other 2100:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been on the market for more than two years also do not support 3D image projection.

We compared this data projector to all the other projectors with a 3D image projection and we think the DELL M410HD, or the Acer P7215 which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

Like most of the other multimedia projectors of this type and age, the NP-PX800 does not support Full HD projection.

Other projectors which also support Full HD projection that you might also want to consider include the PX800X, or the PX700W both from NEC.

Does Not Support WiFi Connectivity

Like most of the other 2100:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been around for a comparable time to the NP-PX800, the NP-PX800 does not support WiFi connectivity.

We compared this projector to all the other projectors with a WiFi connectivity and we think the NEC PX700W is also worth considering.

Similar spec data projectors that were launched more than two years ago have service life of lamp in economic mode of between 2,000h and 5,000h.

Chart Edit

Only One Lamp

The NP-PX800 is a one lamp data projector. Most of the other data projectors of this type and age have one lamp.
