NEC Has Good Projector Reviews

We calculated the average ratings for all NEC projectors and also specifically for NEC 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors and found that in both cases NEC had good ratings compared to other manufacturers.

Supports Full HD Projection

The NEC L102 supports Full HD projection, unlike most of the other data projectors of this age and type which do not support Full HD projection.

We compared this multimedia projector to all the other projectors which support Full HD projection and we think the MH680[pl_1998672_price], and the TH682[pl_2448398_price] both from Benq or the NEC M362[plb_2268470_price] which has better reviews is also worth considering.

Has a Built-In Speaker

The NEC L102 has a built-in speaker. Most of the other 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that are a comparable age to the L102 also have a built-in speaker.

The highest resolution supported by the NEC L102 is 1920 x 1080 (HD 1080). That's over six times the resolution of the most frequently found graphics resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA) (which is also supported by this multimedia projector). This projector also support graphics resolutions of 720 x 480, 720 x 576, 1152 x 870, 1280 x 768, 1280 x 800, 1280 x 960, 1440 x 900, 1440 x 1050, 1024 x 768 (XGA), 1152 x 864 (XGA+), 1280 x 1024 (SXGA), 1280 x 720 (HD 720), 1366 х 768 and 1680 x 1050 (WSXGA+) and 800 x 600 (SVGA). We compared all the other data projectors which also support 3D image projection to this data projector and we think the MH680[pl_1998672_price], or the TH682[pl_2448398_price] both from Benq or the NEC M362[plb_2268470_price] which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

Very Dim Projector Brightness

Across all the 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that are a similar age to the L102 the projector brightness range from 300 ANSI lumens to 20,000 ANSI lumens, and the average projector brightness is 3,400 ANSI lumens. With a projector brightness of only 1,000 ANSI lumen, the NEC L102 has a fairly dim projector brightness compared to most of the other data projectors that were released more than two years ago.

We think you might also be interested in some of the alternative 1,000 ANSI lumens brightness multimedia projectors currently available including the Infocus IN1146[plb_2100767_price] which has better reviews.

If you would prefer a brighter projector brightness then you might also want to consider the EB-575W[pl_2237067_price] (2,700 ANSI lumens), or the EB-570[pl_2237069_price] (2,700 ANSI lumens) both from Epson or the Vivitek H1180HD[plb_2341133_price] (2,000 ANSI lumens) which also has a higher rating.
