The CP-X5550 has a built-in speaker, as do most of the other comparable spec projectors that have been available for the last year.

We think you might also be interested in some of the other multimedia projectors with a built-in speaker currently available including the Epson EB-585WS which is cheaper.

Alternative multimedia projectors which also have a built-in speaker that you might also want to consider include the W490 ($1,299.99), or the EH490 ($1,120.00) both from Optoma.

Three HDMI Ports

The CP-X5550 has more HDMI ports than most of the 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that were released around the same time as the CP-X5550. This data projector is a three HDMI port data projector compared to most of the recently released data projectors which only have between one and two HDMI ports.

Very Bright Brightness in Economy Mode

The brightness in economy mode of similar spec projectors that are a comparable age to the CP-X5550 range from 1,600 ANSI lumens to 4,100 ANSI lumens. When compared to other recently released projectors, the CP-X5550's brightness in economy mode of 4,060 ANSI lumens is one of the brightest.

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

The CP-X5550 does not support Full HD projection, although keep in mind that most of the other new similar spec data projectors also do not support Full HD projection.

It is worth also looking at other multimedia projectors which also support Full HD projection including the Benq MH750 ($999.00).

Does Not Support 3D Image Projection

The CP-X5550 does not support 3D image projection, although it is worth keeping in mind that most of the other 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that were released in the last 12 months also do not support 3D image projection.

We compared this projector to all the other projectors with a 3D image projection and we think the Benq MH750 ($999.00) which is also cheaper is also worth considering.

Does Not Support WiFi Connectivity

The CP-X5550 does not support WiFi connectivity. Most of the other 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been around for a comparable time to the CP-X5550 also do not support WiFi connectivity.

Other projectors which also support WiFi connectivity that you might also want to consider include the Epson EB-585WS, or the Hitachi CP-AX3005.

Fairly Loud Noise Level

The Hitachi CP-X5550 has a quite loud noise level (38 decibels) compared to most of the other new 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors. Across all the 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that are a comparable age to the CP-X5550 the noise levels range from 28dB to 41dB.

Projectors with a louder noise level that might also be worth considering include the Hitachi CP-WU5505 ($2,229.99) (38dB).
