7 Reasons For

Just Released Eight Months Ago

This 10000:1 contrast ratio projector was released just eight months ago. Newer data projectors like this one are likely to have better features.

Supports WiFi Connectivity

The CP-WX5500 supports WiFi connectivity, which is unusual. Most of the other 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been around for around the same time as the CP-WX5500 do not support WiFi connectivity.

We think you might also be interested in some of the alternative data projectors which support WiFi connectivity currently available including cheaper data projectors such as the Epson EB-585WS.

Supports Full HD Projection

Unlike most of the other 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been on the market for a comparable time to the CP-WX5500 which do not support Full HD projection, the CP-WX5500 supports Full HD projection.

We think you might also be interested in some of the other data projectors which support Full HD projection currently available including the Optoma EH490 ($1,120.00), or the Benq MH750 ($999.00) which is cheaper.

Has a Built-In Speaker

The Hitachi CP-WX5500 has a built-in speaker. Most of the other new projectors also have a built-in speaker.

We compared this data projector to all the other data projectors with a built-in speaker and we think the EH490 ($1,120.00), and the W490 ($1,299.99) both from Optoma which is cheaper is also worth considering.

Other data projectors which also have a built-in speaker that you might also want to consider include the Hitachi CP-WU5505 ($2,229.99).

Very High Maximum Horizontal Synchronization

When compared to other 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that have been on the market for around the same time as the CP-WX5500 that we have assessed, the maximum horizontal synchronization of the CP-WX5500 of 106 kilohertz is one of the highest. The lowest maximum horizontal synchronization of recently released 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors is 67kHz, the highest is 110kHz, and the average maximum horizontal synchronization is 92kHz.

Chart Edit

Two HDMI Ports

Most projectors that were launched in the last 12 months have between one and two HDMI ports, including the Hitachi CP-WX5500 which has two HDMI ports.

Chart Edit

Quite High RMS Rated Power

Similar spec projectors that are a comparable age to the CP-WX5500 have RMS rated power of between 1W and 20W. The Hitachi CP-WX5500 has one of the higher RMS rated power (16 Watts) amongst 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors of this age.

3 Reasons Against

Does Not Support 3D Image Projection

Most projectors that have been around for a comparable time to the CP-WX5500 do not support 3D image projection. The CP-WX5500 is no exception to this as it too does not support 3D image projection.

There are a number of alternative multimedia projectors which also support 3D image projection that you might also want to look at including the EH490 ($1,120.00), or the W490 ($1,299.99) both from Optoma or the Benq MH750 ($999.00) which is also cheaper.

Chart Edit

Only One USB 2.0 Port

Most comparable spec data projectors that have been on the market for a similar time to the CP-WX5500 have between one and two USB 2.0 ports, including the Hitachi CP-WX5500 which has one USB 2.0 port.

2 Other reasons to consider the Hitachi CP-WX5500

Average Projector Brightness

The CP-WX5500 has a fairly typical projector brightness (5,200 ANSI lumens) compared to most of the other data projectors that were released in the last 12 months.
