We think you might also be interested in some of the alternative data projectors with a built-in speaker currently available including the CP-WU5505 ($2,229.99), or the CP-WX5500 both from Hitachi which is cheaper.

We compared this multimedia projector to all the other multimedia projectors with a built-in speaker and we think the Panasonic PT-EX620EJ is also worth considering.

WUXGA (1920x1200) Native Projector Resolution

The CP-WU5500 has a maximum resolution of WUXGA (1920x1200). That's over two times the resolution of the most frequently found native projector resolution of WXGA (1280x800).

A WUXGA (1920x1200) native projector resolution is actually the best resolution amongst all recently released similar spec multimedia projectors.

Amongst similar types of projector the worst resolution is XGA (1024x768).

The CP-WU5500 has more HDMI ports than most of the data projectors that came out in the last 12 months. This Hitachi multimedia projector is a three HDMI port multimedia projector compared to most of the recently released 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors which only have between one and two HDMI ports.

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

Most 10000:1 contrast ratio multimedia projectors that are a comparable age to the CP-WU5500 do not support Full HD projection. The CP-WU5500 is no exception to this as it too does not support Full HD projection.

We compared all the other projectors which also support Full HD projection to this data projector and we think the Hitachi CP-WX5500, or the Optoma EH490 ($1,120.00) which is also cheaper is also worth considering.

Does Not Support 3D Image Projection

Like most of the other comparable spec projectors that have been available for a similar time to the CP-WU5500, the CP-WU5500 does not support 3D image projection.

Alternative 5,200 ANSI lumens brightness multimedia projectors currently available which you might also want to consider include cheaper data projectors such as the Hitachi CP-WU5505 ($2,229.99).
