The Benq SP840 supports Full HD projection, which is unusual. Most of the other 3000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been around for around the same time as the SP840 do not support Full HD projection.

Fairly Bright Projector Brightness

Does Not Support 3D Image Projection

Most 3000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been available for around the same time as the SP840 do not support 3D image projection. The Benq SP840 is no exception to this as it too does not support 3D image projection.

Other multimedia projectors which also support 3D image projection that you might also want to consider include the Optoma EW695.

Does Not Support WiFi Connectivity

Like most of the other projectors that have been available for more than two years, the Benq SP840 does not support WiFi connectivity.

We compared all the other projectors which also support WiFi connectivity to this multimedia projector and we think the Sony VPL-SW630 ($1,189.95) which also has a higher rating is also worth considering.

The SP840 is clearly designed for use in well-lit public areas, but the rainbow effect and high price were more than enough to put us off...
