The Benq PU953 supports a maximum resolution of 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA). That's 20% more resolution than a 1600 x 1200 (UXGA) data projector, which is the most common resolution supported by similar spec projectors that are a comparable age to the PU953. Across all new projectors the worst resolution is 640 x 480 (VGA) and the best is 4096 x 2160.
It may also be worth considering one of the other multimedia projectors that support a resolution of 640 x 480 (VGA)|1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) currently available including cheaper projectors such as the PW9520, or the PX9510 both from Benq.
If the resolution of this 2800:1 contrast ratio data projector is too low for you then you might want to consider the Sony VPL-VW300ES (720 x 576|1280 x 720 (HD 720)|1920 x 1080 (HD 1080)|3840 x 2160|4096 x 2160) which is also higher rated.
