The Benq MS524 has a built-in speaker, as do most of the other projectors of this age and spec.

We compared this multimedia projector to all the other projectors with a built-in speaker and we think the P1283[pl_2189846_price], and the X1373[pl_2256532_price] both from Acer or the Benq MW820ST[plb_1552199_price] which has better reviews is also worth considering.

13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that came out more than two years ago have projector brightness of between 800 ANSI lumens and 4,200 ANSI lumens, and the average projector brightness is 3,000 ANSI lumens. At 3,200 ANSI lumens, the Benq MS524 has a fairly bright projector brightness compared to most of the other projectors of this age and type.

It may also be worth also looking at one of the alternative 3,200 ANSI lumens brightness projectors currently available including the Benq MW526[plb_2415513_price] which has better reviews.

Quite Quiet Noise Level

With a noise level of only 32 decibels, the Benq MS524 has a quite quiet noise level compared to most of the other data projectors that were released around the same time as the MS524. Similar spec data projectors that were released more than two years ago have noise levels of between 26dB and 40dB, and the average noise level is 33dB.

We compared all the other 32dB noise level projectors to this projector and we think the MS517[pl_1463623_price], and the MW820ST[pl_1552199_price] both from Benq which has better reviews is also worth considering.

If you would consider a data projector with a louder noise level then you might want to look at the Benq MX518[plb_1521707_price] (32dB).

The Benq MS524 has a fairly long service life of lamp in economic mode (10,000 hours) compared to most of the other projectors of this type and age.

Inferior Sound Quality

One Benq MS524 reviewer who reviewed the Benq MS524 considered that it did not have good sound quality. Pc Mag mentioned two years ago “Weak audio” in their review of the Benq MS524 nonetheless they rated this projector 4 stars.

Poor High Def TV

One person said in their reviews that it was not good at displaying high definition TV. Dr. You mentioned on Amazon “A pity that it is not HD”.

Does Not Support Full HD Projection

The Benq MS524 does not support Full HD projection, although it is worth keeping in mind that most of the other 13000:1 contrast ratio projectors that have been on the market for more than two years also do not support Full HD projection.

It is worth considering other data projectors which also support Full HD projection including the MW820ST[pl_1552199_price], or the MW526[pl_2415513_price] both from Benq or the Acer X1373[plb_2256532_price] which is also higher rated.
