Benq has good average reviews for its projectors as well as across its entire projector range.

Easy to Use

Some people concluded that the Benq GP20 was easy to use. Globetrottergirl scored the product 4 stars and said “The inbuilt speakers are very handy if not powerful, so I will change that.”. Expert review site Gadgetreview.com said “Digital LED projector has a number of advantages over the more conventional bulb-based model, chief among them being ease of use, near-instant light start-up” in their Benq GP20 review.

Good Picture Quality

One customer who bought it concluded that it had good colour saturation. Globetrottergirl mentioned in their review of the Benq GP20 “For such a tiny thing (it fits on my standard size fireplace mantlepiece) it sure produces a wall full of picture with clear fab colours” .

Has a Built-In Speaker

The Benq GP20 has a built-in speaker, which is unusual. Most of the other data projectors that have been on the market for more than two years do not have a built-in speaker.

We compared this projector to all the other multimedia projectors with a built-in speaker and we think a cheaper projector such as the Infocus IN1142 ($351.99) or you might consider a better rated projector such as the Viewsonic PJD6350 ($421.99), and the Benq W750 are also worth considering.

Supports 3D Image Projection

The Benq GP20 supports 3D image projection. Most of the other similar spec data projectors that have been around for a comparable time to the GP20 also support 3D image projection.

We compared this multimedia projector to all the other projectors which support 3D image projection and we think because of it's better review score, the Viewsonic PJD6350 ($421.99), and the Benq W750 is also worth considering.

It is worth considering alternative data projectors which also support 3D image projection including the Optoma DH1008.

The Benq GP20 supports a maximum resolution of 1600 x 1200 (UXGA). That's over six times the resolution of a 640 x 480 (VGA) projector, which is the most common resolution supported by multimedia projectors of this type and age. 640 x 480 (VGA) is also supported by this multimedia projector. The resolution of all similar spec projectors that are a comparable age to the GP20 ranges from 640 x 480 (VGA) to 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA).

The dimmest projector brightness of multimedia projectors of a similar type and age to the GP20 is 300 ANSI lumens and the brightest is 9,200 ANSI lumens.
