On average Viewsonic medium monitors have good ratings compared to other manufacturers as do all PC screens produced by Viewsonic.

Good Picture Quality

One customer who bought it considered that it was not noisy. Nablane wrote on Amazon “Unfortunately the replacement monitor switch-mode PSU is very noisy at standby, crackling” and rated it 2 stars.

Not 3D Compatible

The Viewsonic VG2438 is not 3D compatible, although this is within the context that most of the other PC monitors of this spec and age are also not 3D compatible.

If you would prefer an LCD screen that is 3D compatible then you might also want to look at the Benq XL2411[plb_2130532_price], or the Asus VG248QE[plb_1529549_price] which is also higher rated.
