One person who reviewed the product reckoned that it was a good design. Pc Mag mentioned on PC Mag “Sleek design”.

One Lenovo Pro2840 reviewer who reviewed it said that it was good looking. Pcmag.com said in their review of the Lenovo Pro2840 on expert review site PC Mag “The Lenovo ThinkVision Pro2840m is a sharp-looking 28-inch UHD monitor that delivers mostly accurate colors and a beautiful picture.” but even so they rated the product 3 stars.

Has a Built-In Speaker

The Pro2840 has a built-in speaker, unlike most of the other PC displays of a similar spec and age to the Pro2840 which do not have a built-in speaker.

It may also be worth considering one of the alternative PC screens with a built-in speaker currently available including the LG 27MB85 ($843.33), the iiyama XB2776QS, or the Philips 298P4 which has better reviews.

Does Not Have a Built-In Camera

The Pro2840 does not have a built-in camera, although this is within the context that most of the other medium monitors that were launched around the same time as the Pro2840 also do not have a built-in camera.

We compared this PC display to all the other PC displays with a built-in camera and we think the C272P4QPKEW, or the 272P4 ($586.99) both from Philips or the Acer DA220 which is also higher rated is also worth considering.

Not 3D Compatible

Most medium monitors that have been on the market for more than two years are not 3D compatible. The Lenovo Pro2840 is no exception to this as it too is not 3D compatible.

Flatpanel monitors which are 3D compatible that might also be worth looking at include the Samsung SMT-2232 ($549.99), or the Acer DA220.

Does Not Have an Integrated Card Reader

The Lenovo Pro2840 does not have an integrated card reader. Most of the other medium monitors that have been on the market for more than two years also do not have an integrated card reader.

There are a number of other PC displays which also have an integrated card reader that you might want to look at including the DELL UP2414Q, the Asus PA279 ($749.00), or the Acer DA220 which is also higher rated.

LCD Display Type

The Pro2840 has an LCD display type which is better than most PC screens of a comparable age and type to it. Most PC displays of this type and age have an LED display type.

There are a number of alternative PC displays that have an LCD Display currently available which you might want to look at including because of it's better review score, the ZR2740w, or the x2401 both from HP or the NEC MultiSync EA294WMi ($469.49).

If you are looking for a PC screen with a better display type then you might also want to consider the HP 2211 (LED), the Fujitsu E24T-7 (LED), or the AOC G2770 ($303.80) (LED) which also has a higher rating.

I purchased this monitor back in Sept. with high hopes based on prior Lenovo experience, and the features advertised. I had to immediately return the unit due to the connectors "shorting out".... Read more…
