Robust

A few customers who reviewed it concluded that it was strong and durable. Reevaldo gave the iiyama X2485WS a score of 80 out of 100 and said in their review on Amazon in October last year “Still, as a result I fitted the rest of my office out with the USB version which has a sturdy stand with a rotatable base, rotates the screen”.

Poor Sound Quality

One customer considered that it did not have good sound quality. Alan, Bracknell wrote in their review of the iiyama X2485WS “The only downside is that the sound quality is poor” but they scored it 4 stars.

Not 3D Compatible

Most PC displays of this spec and age are not 3D compatible. The iiyama X2485WS is no exception to this as it too is not 3D compatible.

Flatpanel monitors which are 3D compatible that might be worth looking at include the Asus VG248QE ($207.99), or the Benq XL2411 ($245.99).

Does Not Have a Built-In Camera

The iiyama X2485WS does not have a built-in camera. Most of the other medium monitors that came out more than two years ago also do not have a built-in camera.

There are a number of other flatpanel monitors which also have a built-in camera that you might want to look at including the 272C4QPJKAB, or the 231P4Q both from Philips or the AOC I2472 which also has a higher rating.

Does Not Have an Integrated Card Reader

The X2485WS does not have an integrated card reader. Most of the other medium monitors that were released more than two years ago also do not have an integrated card reader.

Across all the PC screens that have been on the market for a comparable time to the X2485WS the RMS rated audio powers range from 0.5W to 49W, and the average RMS rated audio power is 5.3W. At only 1.5 Watts, the iiyama X2485WS has a fairly low RMS rated audio power compared to most of the other comparable spec flatpanel monitors that came out around the same time as the X2485WS.

LCD Display Type

The iiyama X2485WS has a better display type than most medium monitors that came out around the same time as it. This PC screen has an LCD display type, whereas most PC screens that were released more than two years ago have an LED display type.

It may also be worth considering one of the other flatpanel monitors that have an LCD Display currently available including the Philips 231P4Q, or the Benq BL2411 which has better reviews; or the Asus VW24 which is cheaper.

PC displays with a better display type that might also be worth considering include the iiyama XB2780HSU (LED and higher rated), the Asus PB238 ($209.73) (LED and higher rated), or the LG 24GM77 ($249.00) (LED and higher rated).

With a width of 561 millimeters, the iiyama X2485WS has a fairly average width compared to most of the other similar spec PC monitors that have been on the market for more than two years.

If you are not concerned about having a wider width then you might want to look at the Philips 231P4 ($270.16) (547mm) which is also cheaper.
