We calculated the average reviews for all HP flatpanel monitors and also specifically for HP medium monitors and found that in both cases HP had good reviews.

Does Not Have a Built-In Speaker

The ZR2740w does not have a built-in speaker. Most of the other medium monitors that have been around for around the same time as the ZR2740w also do not have a built-in speaker.

It is worth also looking at other LCD screens which also have a built-in speaker including the LG 27MB85 ($334.99), the iiyama XB2776QS, or the Philips 298P4 which is also higher rated.

Not 3D Compatible

Most comparable spec LCD screens that came out more than two years ago are not 3D compatible. The HP ZR2740w is no exception to this as it too is not 3D compatible.

If you want a PC display that is 3D compatible then you might want to look at the Samsung SMT-2232 ($549.99), or the Acer DA220 which is also cheaper.

Does Not Have a Built-In Camera

The ZR2740w does not have a built-in camera, although it is worth keeping in mind that most of the other medium monitors that have been around for around the same time as the ZR2740w also do not have a built-in camera.

We compared this flatpanel monitor to all the other PC displays with a built-in camera and we think the Philips 272P4 ($586.99); or the Philips C272P4QPKEW, or the Acer DA220 are also worth considering.

Does Not Have an Integrated Card Reader

Most PC screens that have been on the market for more than two years do not have an integrated card reader. The HP ZR2740w is no exception to this as it too does not have an integrated card reader.

Other flatpanel monitors which also have an integrated card reader that you might also want to look at include the UP2414Q, or the U3014 ($1,499.99) both from DELL or the Asus PA279 ($749.00) which also has a higher rating.

LCD Display Type

The ZR2740w has an LCD display type which is better than most medium monitors that are a comparable age to it. Most comparable spec flatpanel monitors that were released more than two years ago have an LED display type.

It may also be worth also looking at one of the alternative flatpanel monitors that have an LCD Display currently available including the NEC MultiSync EA294WMi ($469.49), or the HP LV2011 which has better reviews.

If the display type of this medium monitor is not good enough for you then you might want to consider the HP 2211 (LED and cheaper), or the Fujitsu E24T-7 (LED and cheaper); or the AOC G2770 ($299.99) (LED and higher rated).
