Good Picture Quality

A number of people wrote in their reviews that the HP LP2465 had good picture quality.

A few HP LP2465 owners wrote in their reviews that the product had a good contrast ratio. Cnet.com wrote in their HP LP2465 review on expert review site CNET.com “Bright, crisp image; incredible contrast ratio; stable and flexible stand; fast pixel-response time; all the cables youll need are included; three-year warranty” and scored the product 4 stars. Expert website Computerpoweruser.com rated the product 4 stars and said “1 contrast ratio, HP Quick Release, 6ms response time (grey to grey) Remember when Apple’s 23-inch Cinema HD arrived on the scene for a cool two grand” in their HP LP2465 review.

When compared to other new medium monitors that we have checked the display brightness of, the HP LP2465's display brightness of 500 candellas per square meter is one of the brightest. The display brightness of similar spec PC displays that have been available for around the same time as the LP2465 range from 200 cd/m² to 800 cd/m².

Poor Connectivity

One customer concluded that it was not good in terms of connectivity. Seven years ago Devhardware.com wrote in their HP LP2465 review “Limited connectivity, no HDCP support”.

Inferior Technical Features

Some HP LP2465 reviewers mentioned in their reviews that it did not have good features. Cnet.com said in their HP LP2465 review “Trouble is, Dell has a similar display that gives you more features at roughly the same price”. Expert website Pcauthority.com.au said in their HP LP2465 review “With average image quality and a lack of up-to-date features, we can?t recommend the LP2465”.

Does Not Have a Built-In Speaker

Most of the other medium monitors that were released in the last year have a built-in speaker, however the HP LP2465 does not have a built-in speaker.

We think you might also be interested in alternative PC monitors which also have a built-in speaker including the Samsung LS34E790C; or the DELL U3417W ($750.00).

Not 3D Compatible

The HP LP2465 is not 3D compatible, although keep in mind that most of the other new medium monitors are also not 3D compatible.

Does Not Have a Built-In Camera

Like most of the other recently released flatpanel monitors, the HP LP2465 does not have a built-in camera.

There are a number of alternative PC monitors which also have a built-in camera that you might also want to consider including the Lenovo X24 Pro, or the Philips 272P7VPTKEB which is also cheaper.

Does Not Have an Integrated Card Reader

The HP LP2465 does not have an integrated card reader, although this is within the context that most of the other medium monitors that have been on the market for the last year also do not have an integrated card reader.

Quite Slow Response Time

At 6 milliseconds, the HP LP2465 has a fairly slow response time compared to most of the other similar spec flatpanel monitors that were launched in the last 12 months. New PC screens have response times of between 1ms and 20ms.

Fairly High Maximum Power Consumption

Across all the medium monitors that are a similar age to the LP2465 the maximum power consumptions range from 17W to 230W. With a maximum power consumption of 110 Watts, the HP LP2465 has one of the higher maximum power consumptions amongst PC displays of this age.

When compared to other latest medium monitors that we have checked, the HP LP2465's weight of 10.7 kilograms is one of the heaviest. The weights of new medium monitors range from 2.6g to 21kg.

LCD Display Type

The HP LP2465 has an LCD display type which is better than the LED display type found on most medium monitors that have been available for around the same time as it.

It may also be worth considering one of the alternative PC monitors that have an LCD Display currently available including the Philips 328P6VJEB which is cheaper; or the Eizo CS2420 ($861.00), or the AOC AG271QG ($699.99) which has better reviews.

Flatpanel monitors with a better display type that might be worth considering include the Acer BX340CK (LED and cheaper), or the Philips 272P7VPTKEB (LED and cheaper).

At 554 millimeters, the HP LP2465 has a fairly average width compared to most of the other medium monitors that were released in the last year.

If you would consider a PC display with a wider width then you might want to look at the Acer XR342CK ($805.71) (816.2mm).
