Some AOC E1759 reviewers who reviewed this PC monitor agreed that it was thin. Hector Enriquez mentioned on Amazon in November this year “It is light, thin, easy to configure” in his review of the AOC E1759. Two years ago expert review site Pcmag.com said “The AOC E1759Fwu is a 17-inch, USB-powered portable monitor featuring a slim, easy-to-carry design, solid image quality”. Techradar.com said in their review “While laptops, tablets and other devices become thinner and lighter, monitors are having some trouble shedding the pounds.”.

One AOC E1759 reviewer who reviewed it said that it had a good experience. Gadget Fan said on Amazon “Good experience with 2010 MacBook Pro”. One person who bought the product reckoned that it was easy to setup. Amazon Customer rated the product as very good and mentioned in their review of this PC monitor this month “Easy to setup and works fine”.

1600 X 900 Graphics Resolution

The AOC E1759 has a maximum resolution of 1600 x 900. That's 13% more resolution than a 1280 x 1024 (SXGA) PC monitor, which is the most frequently found resolution. Across all PC monitors of a similar age and type to the E1759 the best resolution is 1920 x 1080 (HD 1080) and the worst is 640 x 350.

Inferior Picture Quality

Some customers said that the AOC E1759 did not have good picture quality. Fernando mentioned “Poor picture quality” and gave the AOC E1759 a score of 40 out of 100. Gadget Fan mentioned “Now the picture quality is not as good as my laptop screen, despite having a higher res (1600 x 900 vs MacBook Pro's 1440 x 900”.

One customer concluded that the product did not have good colour saturation. Last year Techradar.com mentioned “However, its poor colour saturation, awful viewing angles” in their review of this PC monitor and gave it a score of 3 stars.

Poor Product Quality

Some AOC E1759 owners said that it was not good quality. Amazon Customer scored the product 1 stars and said in their review “I overlooked the other review, which mentioned bad picture quality”. Amazon Customer also mentioned “The screen on this thing is absolutely awful - about the quality of the screen you find on a £35 tablet PC”. Ashley he said in his review “Don't expect a super high quality panel for this price”.

Only One USB Type-A Downstream Port

Most small monitors that have been around for around the same time as the E1759 have between one and five USB Type-A downstream ports, including the AOC E1759 which has one USB Type-A downstream port.

Does Not Have a Built-In Speaker

The AOC E1759 does not have a built-in speaker. Most of the other LCD screens of a comparable age and type to the E1759 also do not have a built-in speaker.

We compared all the other PC monitors which also have a built-in speaker to this PC monitor and we think the VW199TL, or the VB178T ($354.59) both from Asus or the iiyama E1980SD are also worth considering.

Does Not Have a Built-In Camera

The AOC E1759 does not have a built-in camera, although it is worth noting that most of the other similar spec PC displays that have been available for a comparable time to the E1759 also do not have a built-in camera.

Not 3D Compatible

The AOC E1759 is not 3D compatible. Most of the other comparable spec PC monitors that have been around for more than two years are also not 3D compatible.

PC displays which are 3D compatible that might also be worth looking at include the Neovo C-17, or the Samsung SMT-1934 ($405.38) which also has a higher rating.

Does Not Have an Integrated Card Reader

Most PC displays that were launched around the same time as the E1759 do not have an integrated card reader. The AOC E1759 is no exception to this as it too does not have an integrated card reader.

Quite Dim Display Brightness

Across all the flatpanel monitors of this type and age the display brightness range from 180 cd/m² to 450 cd/m². With a display brightness of only 220 candellas per square meter, the AOC E1759 has one of the dimmer display brightness amongst similar spec PC screens of this age.

PC monitors of a similar spec and age to the E1759 have response times of between 2ms and 44ms, and the average response time is 6.2ms.
