On average Acer small monitors have good ratings compared to other manufacturers as do all PC monitors manufactured by Acer.
LED Display Type
This PC screen has an LED display type, which is typical of many similar spec PC displays that came out around the same time as it.
We think you might also be interested in some of the alternative flatpanel monitors that have an LED Display currently available including the Samsung S19C200 ($235.59) which has a better Rating; or the Philips 200V4QSB which is cheaper.
Has a Built-In Speaker
Unlike most of the other LCD screens that were released around the same time as the V176L which do not have a built-in speaker, the Acer V176L has a built-in speaker.
Alternative flatpanel monitors with a built-in speaker currently available which you might want to look at include the AOC M2060SWDA2 which is cheaper; or the Viewsonic VA2055SM ($84.99), or the V7 L18500WS-9K which has a better Rating.
+4 More reasons for
1280 X 1024 (SXGA) Graphics Resolution
This LCD screen has a graphics resolution of 1280 x 1024 (SXGA), which is typical of many small monitors that have been around for around the same time as it.
Similar spec PC screens that are a comparable age to the V176L have weights of between 140g and 5.8kg, and the average weight is 2.8kg. With a weight of only 2.2 kilograms, the Acer V176L is one of the lighter small monitors that are a comparable age to the V176L amongst comparable spec LCD screens of this age.
Across all the flatpanel monitors of this type and age the widths range from 100mm to 480mm, and the average width is 430mm. The Acer V176L is one of the narrower small monitors that are a comparable age to the V176L (only 369 millimeters) amongst comparable spec PC displays of this age.
6 Reasons Against
One customer who purchased it thought it was not good looking. Mossy wrote in their review of the Acer V176L on Amazon “It's pretty over-priced”.
Not 3D Compatible
The Acer V176L is not 3D compatible. Most of the other flatpanel monitors of this age and spec are also not 3D compatible.
Does Not Have an Integrated Card Reader
The Acer V176L does not have an integrated card reader, although keep in mind that most of the other PC screens that are a similar age to the V176L also do not have an integrated card reader.
Does Not Have a Built-In Camera
Most similar spec PC screens that have been around for around the same time as the V176L do not have a built-in camera. The Acer V176L is no exception to this as it too does not have a built-in camera.
+3 More reasons against
Quite Small Display Diagonal

The number of cables included found on the Acer V176L is more than most flatpanel monitors of this age and spec. 3 Other reasons to consider the Acer V176L
Released Over Two Years Ago
Acer released the V176L over two years ago.
10000000:1 Dynamic Contrast Ratio
The Acer V176L has a maximum contrast ratio of 10000000:1. That's 50% less contrast ratio than the most common dynamic contrast ratio of 20000000:1.
We compared all the other LCD screens that have a 10000000:1 dynamic contrast ratio to this PC display and we think the Philips 200V4QSBR which has a better Rating; or the Philips 200V4QSB which is cheaper are also worth considering.
If you are looking for an LCD screen with a higher contrast ratio then you might want to look at the AOC M2060SWDA2 (20000000:1), or the Fujitsu E20T-7 (20000000:1) which is also cheaper.

This is a no-nonsense monitor we use for installations for our client systems. Cheap, easy, and much lighter than we expected
Easy To Set Up
The tilt stand on this is quite stiff. There's no rotate, of course, but it is easy to simulate whenever something bumps the desk. The buttons for the OSD are tiny and unlabelled
I know you get what you pay for, and I know this is a 99 monitor, but I've never seen such flimsy construction. The base won't lock into the support arm, the support arm won't lock into the monitor ho
None. It puts a picture on the frame, and does nothing more. Just what we wanted
