The Toshiba P55W has a better storage medium than most laptops that have been on the market for more than a year. This portable PC has an HDD storage medium, whereas most similar spec laptops that have been around for around the same time as it have an SSD storage medium. HDD is a traditional storage drive which stores the information on magnetic disks. HDD drives are slower than other forms of storage such as solid state drives (SSD) and flash drives.
An HDD storage medium is in fact the worst storage medium across all portable PCs of a comparable age and spec to the P55W.
An SSD storage medium is the best storage medium across similar types of notebook PC.
We compared this portable PC to all the other laptops that have an HDD storage media and we think cheaper laptops such as the Flex 14, and the Flex both from Lenovo is also worth considering.
Portable PCs with a better storage medium that might be worth considering include the Lenovo Helix ($1,099.95) (SSD and cheaper).
