The HP Elitebook 820 G2 has an SSD storage medium which is better than most notebook PCs that were launched more than a year ago. Most medium processor core laptops that came out around the same time as it have an HDD storage medium. Solid State Drives (SSD) store data in semiconductors on a circuit board rather than using magnetic or optical media. Solid State Drives have no moving parts which makes them very fast and reliable.
An SSD storage medium is actually the best storage medium across all similar spec notebook PCs that have been on the market for a comparable time to the Elitebook 820 G2.
The worst storage medium amongst similar types of laptop is HDD.
We compared this portable PC to all the other notebook PCs that have an SSD storage media and we think the DELL Latitude 12 7000 which is cheaper; or the 13Z940, and the 13Z940 both from LG which has better reviews are also worth considering.
Laptops with a better storage medium that might be worth considering include the HP Elitebook 820 G2 (SSD), or the DELL Latitude 12 7000 (SSD).
