Across all the medium processor core laptops that have been around for a comparable time to the Elitebook 820 the internal memory range from 1GB to 16GB.

It may also be worth considering one of the alternative 8GB internal memory portable PCs currently available including the Asus X550CA, or the Lenovo X1 which is cheaper.

If this HP portable PC internal memory is not big enough for you then you might want to look at the Toshiba Satellite Z30 (16GB and cheaper).

SSD Storage Medium

The Elitebook 820 has an SSD storage medium which is better than the HDD storage medium found on most medium processor core laptops that were launched around the same time as it. Solid State Drives (SSD) store data in semiconductors on a circuit board rather than using magnetic or optical media. Solid State Drives have no moving parts which makes them very fast and reliable.

An SSD storage medium is actually the best storage medium amongst all notebook PCs of a similar type and age to the Elitebook 820.

The worst storage medium amongst comparable types of notebook PC is HDD.

We compared all the other notebook PCs that have an SSD storage media to this laptop and we think cheaper laptops such as the T420s, and the X1 both from Lenovo or the HP EliteBook 820 is also worth considering.
