The EliteBook 820 has an SSD storage medium which is better than the HDD storage medium found on most notebook PCs of a similar spec and age to it. Solid State Drives (SSD) store data in semiconductors on a circuit board rather than using magnetic or optical media. Solid State Drives have no moving parts which makes them very fast and reliable.
This notebook PC's storage medium (SSD) is in fact the best storage medium across all comparable spec laptops that have been on the market for around the same time as the EliteBook 820.
The worst storage medium across comparable types of notebook PC is HDD.
We compared this laptop to all the other notebook PCs that have an SSD storage media and we think cheaper notebook PCs such as the T450, and the T550 both from Lenovo or the HP ProBook 650 ($927.22) is also worth considering.
If you want a laptop with a better storage medium then you might also want to look at the Toshiba Tecra Z50 (SSD).
