The DELL XPS 13 has an SSD storage medium which is better than the HDD storage medium found on most portable PCs of this spec and age. Solid State Drives (SSD) store data in semiconductors on a circuit board rather than using magnetic or optical media. Solid State Drives have no moving parts which makes them very fast and reliable.
An SSD storage medium is in fact the best storage medium across all medium processor core laptops that were released around the same time as the XPS 13.
The worst storage medium amongst comparable types of notebook PC is HDD.
We compared this portable PC to all the other laptops that have an SSD storage media and we think the Tecra Z40[pl_2357769_price], and the Tecra Z40[pl_2357769_price] both from Toshiba or the HP EliteBook 840[plb_2353454_price] which is cheaper is also worth considering.
Laptops with a better storage medium that might also be worth looking at include the DELL XPS 13[plb_1497490_price] (SSD), or the Asus UX303LA[plb_2562286_price] (SSD).
