The DELL XPS 13 has an SSD storage medium which is better than most medium processor core laptops that have been available for a comparable time to it. Most medium processor core laptops that are a similar age to it have an HDD storage medium. Solid State Drives (SSD) store data in semiconductors on a circuit board rather than using magnetic or optical media. Solid State Drives have no moving parts which makes them very fast and reliable.
An SSD storage medium is actually the best storage medium amongst all portable PCs of a similar age and spec to the XPS 13.
An HDD storage medium is the worst storage medium amongst similar types of laptop.
We compared this laptop to all the other laptops that have an SSD storage media and we think the XPS 13, and the XPS 13 both from DELL which is cheaper is also worth considering.
If you want a laptop with a better storage medium then you might also want to look at the T420s (SSD), or the X1 Carbon (SSD) both from Lenovo.
