The DSC-QX30 has an LCD display which is better than most similar spec digital cameras that were released more than a year ago. Most cameras of a similar age and type to it have an OLED display. LCD is the most common display type used in digital cameras. LCD displays are relatively cheap to manufacture but their limitations lie in narrow viewing angles and the displays do not perform well in direct sunlight.
An LCD display is actually the worst display amongst all similar spec cameras that are a comparable age to the DSC-QX30.
Amongst comparable types of digital camera the best display is Super AMOLED.
