Dale Thorn said on Amazon three years ago “The X1 by comparison has a fairly small lens assembly that pops out when the camera is switched on” in his review of this digital camera. Expert website Digital-Photography-School.com wrote “Here’s another LeicaPana compact with a Leica lens married to a Panasonic-designed body” in their review of the Leica V-.
